QuestionKerberos EventID 15016 error message after installing SP1

I downloaded and installed the released version of SP1 from Technet over the weekend (using the .exe file). Everything went well until after the installation. In the system log, this error message shows up every time the system boots (along with a few new memory leak messages that were not there before SP1).

    Source: HttpEvent

    EventID: 15016

"Unable to initialize the security package Kerberos for server side authentication.  The data field contains the error number."

Does anyone have any idea how to fix the error or how to turn it off safely w/out affecting other serives? I looked and could not find Http service under the Services mmc.

I'm getting the same error in the Adm log. (Lenovo box. Vista Ultimate. Not member of a domain).

    Hello,

Yes you will see this error message when you are not joined to a Domain. If you are not joined to a Domain, it is expected that you will get that error message. You can ignore the error message if you not joined to the domain

    Thanks,

Is there any way to stop this error from showing up other than joining a domain? The event log should not show errors when there are none. Thanks ahead,

    Hello,

What are these "ill consequences" you mentioned? Can't they be dealt with?

    If yes, then how?
    If no, then why not?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards,

    Bert Visscher
