Unanswered Office 2003 WebDAV problem

    Hello,

I already posted my problem here: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/excslcreate/thread/12595be7-8902-4f99-9033-974ea1a67e9f

but this seems to be a better place.

I'm using Office 2003 on Windows 7 and I'm trying to connect to a WebDAV-Server using a Port that is NOT 80.

I'm able to assign a drive letter and to access files with UNC-Names \\<server>@<port>\DavWWWRoot\<filename>

I can see the files in Windows Explorer.

It works great with all the other Applications Acrobat Reader and so on, but neither Word or Excel are able to work with these files.

I researched the problem a little and afaik the problem is the Office WebDAV implementation

Is there a fix or a workaround for this problem?

    Regards,

    Rico Kahnert

    Rico,

Thank you for the post.  We need more information regarding this issue.  What type of WebDAV server is it?  Please provide detailed environment info (OS, IIS version and so forth).

When you say neither Word nor Excel can work with these files. What do you mean?  Are you getting an error?  Are you unable to edit files?  Please be more specific.

Also you may need to open a support case for this as a network trace may be required to diagnose the issue and this would be best done in a support case.
