Activation of MSO 2010 Beta via VAMT does not work for me...
-
Monday, December 14, 2009 7:22 AMHello,
our computers do not have direct access to the internet so we cannot use the built-in activation. So I installed VAMT as recommended and was able to export the CIL-file (containing the license).
On computer B (no connection to our internal net, but internet-access working fine) I installed VAMT, too, and imported the CIL-file.
There "Activate | Proxy Activate" is available and working, the MessageBox 'Proxy Activate' shows up
--> but after the MessageBox gets closed (via OK) an error-message shows up: 'VAMT reported that the response from the activation server did not match the request.'
Any idea what's wrong here?
Thanks in advance, best regards

Monday, December 14, 2009 6:06 PMHi Wolfgang, I believe Claton has been working with you on this. From what he has sent me from you, it looks like you're using the Pro version. If you want to use VAMT, you should use the Professional Plus version (the volume edition). Please go to this page:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/2010/en/default.aspx
Click "Get It Now," and select the enterprise or medium business option. Download the Professional Plus build, and after installation, you should be able to use VAMT for activation.

@Kirill
Could you please follow these instructions on your W7 machine (the machine you're using to connect to Microsoft's activation servers)?
Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VAMT2, add an integer type key named LogRequestResponse and set the value to a positive number.
On your W7 machine, load your CIL file from your XP box. Right click on Office --> Proxy activate --> (don't check any checkboxes). All the XML interactions with the activation server will be logged to %TEMP%\VAMT_RequestResponse_{0}.log where {0} is a number and it gets incremented for each log file.
Please send this log file and the CIL file to ted_msft@hotmail.com.
Thanks!

Thanks for your patience in this issue. The VAMT team says there's a bug in VAMT 2.0.67.0.
The problem occurs if VAMT is running on a machine whose locale is set to use a comma instead of a period as the decimal separator. Notice in the activation request, it sent the VersionNumber as “2,0” instead of “2.0” - this cause the activation servers to consider the request invalid.
The workaround for this is to set the language settings to use a decimal instead of a comma before launching VAMT. This problem will be fixed in the next version.

Thursday, January 27, 2011 1:57 PMI'm troubling today with VAMT 2.0 and Office 2010 MAK-Proxy activation. I see error -
VAMT reported that the response from the activation server did not match the request.
VAMT 2.0 was installed on Russian Windows 2008 Standard, comma is used as default separator.
How about updates for VAMT 2.0.67? 7 month since post about this bug...

The prerelease version of VAMT 3.0 is now available in the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK) for Windows 8 Consumer Preview. The ADK is available for download here:http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=232339
This release fixes this and many other issues, and introduces new features and support for new products. You can find additional information about VAMT 3.0 herehttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh824953.aspx
Please note that VAMT 3.0 requires SQL Server. If you have an existing SQL server available in your environment, VAMT can use it. If not, simply check the "SQL Server" option at the ADK installation's feature selection page to install a free copy of Microsoft SQL Server Express Edition.
