    Hi

    I have multiple environnement configured in XenDesktop, with one golden image for my users desktops. My question is; If in a total of 20 desktops in exemple, how I can make the KMS Host to give office license only to the Desktop for one day.

    My problem is that I have a pooled group of desktop, and not enougth office license for the desktop group, but I have enougth for the users who need office. One person can log in the computer #1 the first day, and the second day in computer #35. 

    My setup;

    Pooled group of desktop in Xen.

    The office is pre-armed in the windows.

    I thougth, can I reset the license that are gived in the kms host in the windows 2008 r2 ? Like a powershell script I could run each night.

    I add that I could do simply two desktop group, but in large scale all my time would be spent just managing windows update or such administration in the desktop.

    The idea was to publish via gpo the office shortcut for users that need it, but the KMS just keep track of the desktop the user started it the first time.

    Hi,

    KMS will activate anything/everything which seeks activation (as long as minimum activation threshold is met).
    KMS does not care if an activation request *should* or *should not* be done - KMS will just do it.
    KMS does not have any limit (only minimum, but no maximum)
    KMS is not an accurate way to control licensing compliance, it is simply an activation method for VL products.

    consult your VL reseller or MS VL team for specific advice.
    in general, VL Office is licensed per-device (e.g. per keyboard) - not per-XD nor by per-VDI.

    so, if you have 50 physical pc's (50 keyboards), and, any of these 50 pc's could use a pooled VDI+Office, then, all 50 pc's must be licensed for Office.
    e.g. Office is not licensed on a concurrent basis (only 20 XD/VDI with Office in use)

    Thanks for the answer, yes it help me understand, I misunderstood the licensing. I will create VDI group that fit the number of license.

    MCTS, MCP
