Cannot install MS Project trial 2010, error at end of installation.

I have tried to install this product on several workstations at my company, and it fails every time at the end. Every workstation is a clone, from a clean windows install and clean office pro plus MAK edition. When I try and install the Project trial i get a 25004 error, I have read previous posts saying that old trials and such have been installed, but I can categorically say that they haven't, so how do I get around this issue?
Thanks.

According to the support article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2559816
When installing Microsoft Office 2010, you may receive the following error:
Microsoft Office encountered an error during setup.
Error 25004. The product key you entered cannot be used on this machine. This is most likely due to previous Office 2010 trials being installed. (System error: -1073422308)This error may be caused by one of the following scenarios.
Cause 1:
The Microsoft Office 2010 Trial was installed once, and the user is attempting to install it a second time.
Cause 2:
There was an earlier beta release of Microsoft Office 2010 installed on the computer and there are peices of the installation that were not completely removed from the computer. Now that you said Cause 1 is out of question, then we should consider the Csuse 2.
Workaround for Cause 2:
1. Download and execute the Office Fix It utility for the specific Office version you are using from KB290301. This utility is intended to remove Office 2003-2010 suites when they cannot be removed via Add/Remove programs.

2. Restart your computer.
3. Try to reinstall Project 2010 again.Max Meng
