In 2010 I installed Office 2007 from a friends disk, the disk was licensed to be used on up to 3 PC's and mine was the third one. I am no longer in contact with the friend nor do I have the disk. I had to reinstall my OS after an issue with my PC and I cannot use Microsoft Office now. When I look on my hard drive the whole program is in the backup file created by windows 7 (C:/Windows.old/Program files(x86)/Microsoft Office). I am wanting to get it working again but when I click on the icon in that folder it shows an error message  "The operating system is not presently configured to run this application. ". Is there a way to get it working again without having to buy the whole program again? Is there a way I can view the product key so that I can use it to update it or get it activated on my PC again?

    Thank you

    Kenny

    Hi Kenny,

The simplest way is to ask your friend for the disk and the product key.

These files in the backup folder are no longer useable.

       Thanks

The only problem is that person moved and we are no longer in contact with each other.
