    Hi,

I have one WA with site collection http://lab . I want to add another URL let say http://lab2 which will refering to the site.

What I have done is. add this(internet) to AAM of the site collection and also add to my host file as well.
The problem is when i browse to the http://lab2 it prompted me the user authentication and after fill it up. It said Unauthorized User. FYI. i key in the Site owner acc to that.
I have no problem accessing http://lab with the same user.

appreciate if someone can help me.

     Answer
    MNHaizam,

    try this:

    1) Remove the http://labs access mapping
    1) Central Administration > Application Management > Create or Extend Web Application > Extend Web Application to Another IIS Web Site
    2) Select http//lab web application
    3) Create a new IIS Site (port 80 - Host header "labs")
    4) Choose a zone (intranet - custom ecc.. is indifferent)
    5) Click OK and wait creation
    5) IISReset

    try to access now.

    regards,

    Francesco

    Same questions..

    1) have you add the new site in intranet site on IE?
    2) can you list your AAM settings?

    1) you need to add the new URL to intranet site of IE because (assuming that is IE7) this change the security setting for the site (low security).
    2) Your AAm is

    http://lab    default    http://lab
    http://lab    internet   Http://labs

    That's right?

    http://labs    internet   Http://labs

How to make the AAM as per your suggestion

    http://lab    default    http://lab
    http://lab    internet   Http://labs

    Thanks. It's work that way

Question. is that the only way?mean need to extend the site? I though AAM we can just put whateva domain name without extending the site
