Target Audiences Not Working for Web Parts
-
Monday, May 21, 2012 8:17 PMI have a page that has 4 content editor web parts on it. When I person gets to the page, they should only see the web parts for whichever group they are in. I added "Group 1" to the "Target Audiences" field under "Advanced" in the Web Part properties. The name of the group was verified. I then added "Group 2" to the "Target Audiences" field for the second web part. Unfortunately, group 1 can still see the web part targeted to group 2 and vice versa. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I tried your path and didn't found any abnormality. Everything works fine.
Check that users in Group1 are not the members of Group2 too and vice versa.
Try another groups to ensure.

I'm having similar problems with my SharePoint 2010 server. See my article here:
Is there no person to answer this question? Seems like Microsoft has a bug to me.
