How to accept LiveID login's for my SharePoint 2010 Foundation website
-
Wednesday, December 23, 2009 12:51 AMHi All,
I have a Sharepoint 2010 Foundation website and want users to be able to make comments etc. I however don't want to setup a whole user registration / configuration / security solution, instead want to rely on Microsoft LiveID for that - Like discribed here: http://sharepointsolutions.com/sharepoint-help/blog/index.php/2009/10/deploying-sharepoint-2010-extranet/. That page however doens't tell me how to use LiveID or if it's even possible. Anyone any idea?
Thanks, Tony.

There is a discussion a year ago here for LiveID and SharePoint 2007 that may give you some ideas. As the core of SharePoint has not changed (except for the 64 bit aspect) these approaches should still work.
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/wliddev/thread/bf357c56-0cf1-4ab3-a9c3-b9d2a33fb94d
It includes info on a CodePlex project and a commercial product:

The author of another CodePlex for a LiveID project says a 2010 version is in the works:

Maybe you can work with him to beta test his work!

Hi,
I am trying to accomplish SharePoint 2010 claim based authentication with Windows Live ID.As per different articles, I have tried to setup authentication with Live-INT id, but I am not able to do sign-up with Live-INT.com . I have faced many problems to do sign-up for new user in Live-INT.com.
So, Now, I am looking for steps to integrate SharePoint 2010 Site, directly with Windows LIVE ID in development environment, because LIVE-INT environment doesn't work.
Please help me for it.
Thanks,

Hi Saurabh,
Live INT environment is now up and running fine. I struggled a lot for about a month on getting correct answers. Although the LIVE INT is up I could not get my configurations working. I followed below mentioned post:
It dispalys me the login screen. As soon as I select LIVE INT ID from my dropdown it successfully redirects me to the Live INT login page. After entering credentials of my Live INT environment instead of opening my sharepoint home page it displays the Return URL page. I am still confused as what should I enter in the Return URL on the msm site configuration. I have tried a lot of combination in the return URL but no luck.
