    Hi, 

    i Have a development/demo SharePoint Server and cant get the search to work.

    If i goto: Manage Service Applications -> Search Service Application -> Manage -> Content Sources

    the Local Sharepoint site status is Starting.

    i Have done a IIS reset, restarted the "SharePoint Server seach 14"service.

    There is a "SharePoint Foundation Search v4" which is disabled. Tried to start it but it wont.

    Any ideas?

    Ok, looks like my Search gatherer DB needs to be upgraded...

    Running the config wizzard now and will then see what happens.

    I have got SP1 installed

    Ok, this is solved:

    The search DB was not responding.

    When i looked under the DB upgrade status it showed that the DB required an upgrade.

    i Ran the config wizard which upgraded it and it started to work.
