    Hi all,

    I am working on sp2010 site. In my organisation, some one did userprofile synchronization and once finished they stopped the service. but still user profile service status was in start mode. now i tried to start user profile synchronization but i don't know the exact user name and password which they used before. And no one knows aswel

    If i want to start user profile synchronization what to do . Am i need to follow all the stpes including configuring user profile service or any other way .

    Can anybody help me please

    First, you will need the farm service account password. You can reset it in Central Administration Security Managed Accounts. Once done you can restart the sync service with that password.

    You should also use a different (lesser privileged) account for the sync connection. Create the connection and kick off the synchronization according to Spence's post here: http://www.harbar.net/articles/sp2010ups.aspx Don't skip any steps.
