I've created a document library that has a Business Data Column on it. When I create a word document in the library by clicking the new button, the Document Information Panel is shown with the title and my BD column shown as fields. However, when I try to enter a value into the BD column I get the following error.
There was an error in the validation code.
Document Information Panel cannot complete this action, because of an error in the form's code.
The following error occurred:Expected token 'EOF' found ':'.
//ns2-->:<--
File
cript.js
Line:170
Unspecified errorI noticed a few posts about this issue from early last year but no solutions has anyone been able to successfully implement a Business Data Column that you can enter values into using the Word Information Panel?

Try changing the field (Display this field of the selected type) in the column settings. Try using a numeric value instead of an alpha value.

Monday, February 25, 2008 5:05 AMIf I change the column type that doesn't solve my issue. The column needs to be a BDC column as it's looking up data about the Document from the BDC application.
Currently I have to create the document, save it, edit the document item properties, enter the BDC column information and save the item. I would like to be able to enter the column information through the Document Information Panel. -
