Answered Why adfs?

    i am having windows authentication in my intranet.  Still is should go for ADFS?

    What is the advantage of ADFS/ADLDS?

    ADFS - Active Directory Federated Services allows the use of multiple domains that are NOT in a trust relationship.  For example there may be an external company who you want to be able to access your SharePoint extranet, but they have their own AD domain.  ADFS lets you give them access to SharePoint without establishing a full trust relationship between your domain and theirs.  Here are some articles on ADFS:

    ADLDS - Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services can be used in place of full AD for login credentials for users who are not members of your existing AD domain without adding them into your domain.  Heres an article on ADLDS:

    SO I had only intranet users.. should i go for ADFS/ADLDS?

    If all the users are inside your network there is no reason to use either ADFS or ADLDS instead of just using regular AD.
