Can we avoid the whole page refresh on Parameter selection of SSRS 2008 report?

Hi All,
We are having several issues with report viewer web part refreshing web page when using cascading parameters. Is there anyway to make UI experience better by utilizing AJAX with report viewer web part or any other option?
I understand if report parameters are cascaded then report needs(or current implementation of SSRS 2008 is like that) the post back and report will refresh, but can we restrict this post back till report viewer web part only instead of refreshing whole page?
I am expecting only Parameter pane or Report Viewer web part refresh, not whole ASPX page.
I really appreciate your inputs.
Note: If I use Performance Point Dashboard to show SSRS report on SharePoint site, in this case only internal part of report refreshes on parameter selection not whole ASPX page.
Technical configuration details:
Development Tool: BIDS/VS 2008
Front end Application: SharePoint (Report Viewer Web Part)
Report Server Configuration: SharePoint Integrated Mode
Data Source: SSAS
