I am trying to store several daily and monthly reports (Cognos) on a Sharepoint site. Since we don't want to append a unique identifier (like date created) at the end of the file name, it looks like the only place where I can have several documents
with the same name (and different versions (distinguishable, for me, by the different Creation Dates)) is the DropOffLibrary. Every time I try to store several identical name documents in any other library (or move them from the drop off, using a
simple rule), I get an error message saying the files are locked (by the system account). Is this teh default behaviour? Do I really have to use separate names for all the reports? Is there a way around this? All documents are being uploaded programatically.
Thanks!!
I'd like to add that someone else here created a different document library (but, same type, reports) and enable an Approval process for it. I can upload documents to that library and they're not locked. So, ot is possible, but how?
