Proposed Answer SharePoint Server 2010 Hardware Requirements - Disk Space

How much disk space is required on the web server for the SharePoint Server 2010 beta install?  I see documentation that says 80Gb of space is needed for single server with database and for multiple server installations.  It doesn't make sense that the single server install and multi-server install would both require the same amount of disk space.

I already have a separate SQL box.  I just need to configure drives on my server for SP2010 web server.

80Gb is the minimum for Windows 2008 SP2, SP2010 Prerequisite software, and SP2010?

I've installed both sql 2008 r2 ctp and sharepoint 2010 on the same server with a 40gb drive and still have 20gb left on this clean install. However, once log files start to grow etc it's pushing it.

I think 40gb will do it for you :)

    Hello MRRB,

The server on which you install SharePoint, C drive (or the drive on which you install SharePoint) should be at least 60 GB as when you install SharePoint on that server the disk space will come to 20 GB out of 40 GB and then when you install other tool to work with SharePoint like Designer and start IIS logging it will bring your system to low disk space as it will cover other 15 GB of your disk space.

So, my recommendation would be at least 60 GB which won't give you any alert for low disk space on the C drive.
