Group Work Site slow
-
Wednesday, May 02, 2012 7:10 PMI followed the instructions on this website http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/Blogs/GetThePoint/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=449 to make a equipment reservation site. Everything works great except it is very slow to load the resources. I have about 4000+ resources in my inventory and only about 200 that can be reserved. I am guessing it is slow because it loads all 4000 items inside the Multi lookup picker field. Any suggestions to make the load time faster? I tried testing with 200 items and this loads much faster.

Do you think looking at one of the filtered lookup solutions would make things faster?

You can also move your 200 items to their own list...

Hi Dranium,
You can classify your resources list. Then create resource group based on the result of classification and add resources into corresponding resource group. Thus, when you make a reservation next time, you can find resources from one or more resource groups instead of all resource.
For the steps to create resource group, please check the step4 in this article:
