AnswerIssue with SCE SP1 installation on Windows Server 2008 - SQL Reporting instance Configuration

I working on the SCE 2007 SP1 installation in Windows Server Enterprise Edition - 32 bit. Since SCE SP1 does not install SQL express in Windows 2008 (SP1), I have instaled the SQL Server 2005 (standard) and updated to SP2 before attempting SCE SP1 install. The SCE setup recognizes the SQL Reporting Server Install but it says that the Reporting Server Instance is not configured and configure this before proceding and does not go ahead with SCE setup. I verified from the Reporting Service Configuration that Reporting Server is running fine. Except the e-mail configuration (which I don't need) all other looks fine. I have also configured the execution account as Domain admin account. I tried the clean install with SQL express with Advanced Services SP2 version also to try my luck but the same message appears in this case also. I am stuck at this stage for more than 2 days and trying to configure differen things but in vain. Can some one shed light on if they are able to Install SCE SP1 Server on Windows 2008 with SQL / Express on the same server. Am I missing some thing. I have worked with SCE 2007 earlier version extensively and still unable to understand this issue.

    Thanks

    Hi Srini,

please check if you can browser http://localhost/reports and http://localhost/reportserver on SCE server properly. If not, please check following setting:

    1.       In IIS Manager, open the Sites folder, and then open the folder of the Web site that contains the reportserver virtual directory.

    2.       Select the report server virtual directory.

    3.       In the IIS area, double-click Handlers Mappings.

    4.       In the Actions pane, click Edit feature Permissions.

    5.       Click Script.

    6.       Click OK.

    7.   Repeat steps 2-6 for reports virtual directory.

After that, try to see if it works at this time.

    Hope this helps.
