    Question

  • we have a new installed SP 2010 with aversion of: 14.0.6106.5002 and are trying to restore a database from a 14.0.5130.5002 Server.

While restore we got this message...

i did several reboots, used the config Wizard and psconfig with inplace b2b.

checkupgrade Status and localupgradestatus give a successfull back.

I would be thankfull for every hint and support because we are pretty delayed in getting that online :-(

  • the updates did not solve it.

We installed a new server, imported the backup, did an upgrade and created a new backup to be imported on the target system.

    Mission acomplished ....

    best regards

  • Hi

Your new server ha a newer version of SharePoint than the old server.

Please check what all updates have been installed on the new server from Central Admin -> Upgrade and Migration -> Check product and patch installation status

Go to the old server and compare the patch installation status of it to the new one.

Install all the missing updates on the old server and take the backup again.

Try restoring after this and you should be able to do it.

  • Hi,

we cant do an update of the old server..., thats why we need to move our qa environment to a new one, which has the updates installed.

But following the message and the statements an update to a newer version should be possible.

  • 14.0.5130.5002 relates to the December 2010 accumulative update

14.0.5130.5002 relates to the June 2011 accumulative update

Neither are major patches.  You either need to uninstall patches on your live to get it to the December 2011 level, or bring the old server upto that standard.  The June 2011 patch isn´t that large but check the patch notes to ensure it won´t make things worse.

  • while serching the components list, i found the office webapp language pack has no service pack... this could be a point too.

i found this list, but no sp for webapp language packs?!

14.0.6106.5002 is SP1 + CU2 but afaik removing sp is not possible...

  • Hi Naveed,

I have checked from Central Admin -> Upgrade and Migration -> Check product and patch installation status.

everything in my old server and new server are exactly the same (14.0.4763.1000). Still having same issues while restoring.

    Sharepoint management shell is telling

""backup file should be restored to a server with version '1784835900.544498533
    1701869940.1766662' or later.""

    any suggestion ??

  • Hi,

have you used psutil or the configuration wizard, to confirm all updates have been verified?

    Sunday, June 22, 2014 9:02 AM
  • Hello c_loki,

I am using Configuration Wizard to cross check the versions. In both servers things look the same

Central Admin -> Upgrade and Migration -> Check product and patch installation status.

  • Hi c_loki,

Ya. The database version I checked. They are different. Server running the site has 10.50.1600.1 but the one I was trying to restore has 10.0.2531.0.

This could be a problem since the later I believe a lower version.

Will check it. but not at this moment unfortunately.

  • Hi Rubaiyat,

try this command (after doing complete Backup of database and directories - in best Case an offline snapshot):

PSConfig.exe -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -force -cmd applicationcontent -install -cmd installfeatures

In Case this throws any Errors you Need to analyze the logs...
