What is the RemoteFX Enabled Certification Program?

The RemoteFX Enabled certification program is designed to help customers find thin-client devices which have been designed and certified to deliver a great RemoteFX / Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) experience.

What is included in the certification?

The RemoteFX Enabled program certifies the thin-client device is capable of delivering a great RemoteFX graphics experience. The protocol version these clients support is RDP 7.1 and up, please check with the device vendor regarding the most recent supported version of the protocol for the device.

Does Microsoft have a program to certify RemoteFX / RDP capable software clients?

Currently we do not have a certification program for 3rd party RemoteFX / RDP client software.

    Are the listed devices also RDP v8.0 (Server 2012 RDS) RemoteFX capable or only RDP v7 (Server 2008 R2 RDS)?

  • Hi Danny: The list contains both RDP v7.1 and RDP 8 devices please contact the device vendor if there is a RDP 8 update available for the device. Thanks Jeroen
