A community is about helping each other and sharing information.
One method to share information and also to collaborate with others in a community is to write a Wiki article.

To improve the discoverability of your wiki article, you should post an announcement in the related TechNet forum.
Here is an example for an announcement.

The objective of this article is to provide you with posting instructions and the related templates.

Posting Instructions

To post your announcement, you perform the following steps:

  1. On the homepage of your TechNet forum, click Ask a question.
  2. Click start a discussion.
  3. In the Title textbox, type your title (typically, this is the title of your Wiki article).
  4. Paste the announcement template into the body of your post.
  5. Update the link information.
  6. To submit your post, click Submit.
