According to legal regulations of European Commission, Microsoft must inform their customers using Internet Explorer as the default browser that there are other Web Browsers available to install and use. This is achieved through the Browser Choice feature. These customers can then expect an interface similar to the following one to appear:
Enterprise administrators might want to disable this feature in their company as, in many cases, end users are not allowed to install Web browsers by themselves. Instead, Web browsers are usually distributed and deployed through Central Management Deployment Solutions like SCCM.
