Table of Contents

Syntax: [TOC] In the editor add the "[TOC]" text (without double quotes).

Links to Wiki Pages

New Page

Syntax: [[<non-existing name>]]
If you want to create a link that creates a new Wiki article, like Create a new wiki article.
This type of link will show in red.

TIP: Check the code of this article an you'll see the difference between [clean tags] and [tags with layout].

Existing Page

Syntax: [[<existing name>]]

If you want quickly to create a link that refers to Wiki article, like Wiki Article Syntax.
Between the double square brackets you must add the exact name of the article (without any layout between the brackets).
This type of link will show in blue.

Existing Page with alias

Syntax: [[<non-existing name>|<alias>]]

Additionally you can add an alternative name to the link by using a pipe sign | and and alernative name.
This is an interesting feature to shorten names of articles.

Important: make sure the name between the double square brackets has NO layout.

URL

Syntax: [[<URL>]]
You can add an URL directly in your article, very easily.
Link to the Wiki main page [[http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki]]

Quote

Syntax: [quote]<URL>[/quote]
If you want to quote text it's very quick and easy by adding the "quote" opening and closing tags.

To Wiki Ninja, or not to Wiki Ninja, that isn't the question.

Important

Important: make sure the name between the double square brackets has NO layout.
If you add layout, the HTML code tags will break the function.

  • The link to a Wiki article doesn't work if the title has a colon. For example [[TechNet Wiki: Getting Started]] doesn't work. Is there a workaround?
