BTDF 5.7 version not able to create service(website) in IIS RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using BTDF for deploying from one env to another.

    The deployment is success but not able to create web service under IIS.

    I have included below code in my .btproj file. Not sure what am I missing the build is successful but not able to see website in IIS.

    Why am I not able to create my published web service automatically to IIS when deploying using BTDF ?

    Anyone suggestions/ advise

     <ItemGroup>
        <IISApp Include="Geico.Enterprise.Param">
          <AppPoolName>WebServiceBTPool</AppPoolName>
          <PhysicalPath>..\GeicoRESTSvc</PhysicalPath>
          <VirtualPath>/Geico.Enterprise.Param</VirtualPath>
          <DeployAction>Create</DeployAction>
          <UndeployAction>Delete</UndeployAction>
          <Exclusions>*.csproj;Web.Debug.config;Web.Release.config;WcfServiceDescription.xml;obj;Properties</Exclusions>

          <VDirList Include="*">
            <Vdir>GeicoRESTSvc</Vdir>
            <AppPool>WebServiceBTPool</AppPool>
            <Physdir>..\GeicoRESTSvc</Physdir>

  • What error is it throwing?

  • As I said earlier, there is no error.

    Build and deployment is successful, but for some reason there is not website or service created in IIS automatically with the deployment. Above is my code used for deployment of my IIS virtual path and directory.

    What am I missing or doing wrong. Please advise

  • Have you got this in the Deployment configuration?

    <IncludeVirtualDirectories>true</IncludeVirtualDirectories>

  • Yes I included <IncludeVirtualDirectories>.

    on checking Deployment logs I see this error:

    error :

    Target DeployNTFSPermissionsOnVDirPaths:
                    Modifying NTFS permissions on virtual directory folders...
                    cacls "" :

                     NOTE: Cacls is now deprecated, please use Icacls.
