Oracle Providor not installed/found RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm having an issue to run a SSIS project in Visual Studio Community 2017  in my Windows 10 Pro and it's returning this message when i test the connection with Oracle Database:

    TITLE: Microsoft Visual Studio

Could not get provider invariant name from the connection type qualifier "Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection, Oracle.DataAccess, Version=4.112.4.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89b483f429c47342". You may need to manually edit the 'Qualifier' property of the connection manager if the default one selected is different from what you want.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Could not find a DbProviderFactory for ADO.NET connection type 'Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection, Oracle.DataAccess, Version=4.112.4.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89b483f429c47342'. Verify that the provider is installed correctly. (Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.Design)

I need to install a specific dll of Oracle in the GAC (which GAC, 32, 64 or both ?) or something else likely ?
