Disk to VHD Converter hangs up at Task Manager RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

It's the 1st time I'm here asking for help.

I have some clients where I use (apart of other backup tools) the DISK2VHD to perform a complete snapshoot.

Normally I use this windows command script running from task sheduler:

    set stampstart=%date% at %time%
    echo -------------------------------
    net stop VSS
    net start VSS
    echo ----------------------------------------------
    net use z: \\192.168.100.233\d2vhd /user:myuser password
    echo -------------------------------
    c:\backup\disk2vhd.exe c: z:\SRF-SERVER01-A\SRF-SERVER01.VHDX -accepteula
    echo -------------------------------
    forfiles.exe /p z:\SRF-SERVER01-A\ /m SRF-SERVER01.vhdx /c "cmd /c echo deu > c:\backup\deu.txt"
    echo -------------------------------
    set logpath="c:\backup\logs\SRF-SERVER01_A.txt"
    set backuppath="z:\SRF-SERVER01-A\SRF-SERVER01.VHDX"
    set stampend=%date% at %time%
    echo -------------------------------
    if exist c:\backup\deu.txt (
(echo The BACKUP of the server SRF-SERVER01 had ended sucessfully
    echo ..........................................................
    echo The task Started: %stampstart%
    echo The task Ended: %stampend%
    echo Log file location: %logpath%
    echo Backup file location: %backuppath%) > c:\backup\logs\SRF-SERVER01_A.txt
    C:\Backup\CMailer\cmailer.exe /p: "C:\Backup\CMailer\VHD_A_C_OK.txt"
    ) else (
(echo Errors Occured on executing the backup of the server SRF-SERVER01
    echo ...........................................................
    echo The task started: %stampstart%
    echo The task ended: %stampend%
    echo Log file location: %logpath%
    echo Backup file location: %backuppath%) > c:\backup\logs\SRF-SERVER01_A.txt
    C:\Backup\CMailer\cmailer.exe /p: "C:\Backup\CMailer\VHD_A_C_NOK.txt")
    echo ...........................................................
    net use z: /delete
    del c:\backup\deu.txt /q
    del c:\backup\logs\SRF-SERVER01.txt /q

The problem's starts when the disk2vhd stays running without ending...

It "hangs" in Task Manager...and at the end of 3 days I have there (task manager) 3 processes of disk2vhd.

I have tried to include "Taskkill /f /IM disk2vhd.exe" in order to attempt to end it but with no luck...

Any ideias do resolve this situation?
