Opalis Admin Service will not start RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are getting an error message when trying to start the Opalis Admin Service. The error message states that the service did not respond in a timely manner.

One of my colleagues suggests this has happened in the past and he was informed to delete some logs. Unfortunately, we cannot determine what those log files where.

    Thanks for your help

  • The logs that your colleague is likely speaking of is the "Log" folder stored under the "ServiceX" folder (default = C:\Program Files\Opalis4\Service1\Log).

You can try stopping the "Opalis4 AdminService" and "Opalis4 Service1" services and then rename the "Log" folder to something like "Log_BAK" and restart the services.  The "Log" folder will then be automatically re-created.

Do you know the circumstances leading up to this failure?  Did the server run out of disk space or anything like that?  If so, the database may have become corrupted in which case you may need to rename the "Data" folder as well and then restore one of the backups from the "Backup&Save\Backup" folder.
