  • this message means, the Internet Explorer crashed.

please download this reg file from my SkyDrive:

    http://cid-128fc518635be2dc.office.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/MS%20Foren/Registry/WER%5E_InternetExplorer.reg.txt

(remove the .txt extension after you downloaded the file) and make a double click on the .reg file to import it.

When the Internet Explorer crashes, Windows Error Reporting Service [1] creates a dmp file under C:\Localdumps. Please upload the file to your public Skydrive [2] folder and post the link here. I take a look at the dump with the Debugger, maybe I can see which Addon/Toolbar is the cause.

  • Hi,

IE crash issue can be caused by various factors like 3rd part software, add-ons or corrupted system files.

The crash dump file is required to do further troubleshooting.

At this point, we can follow these steps narrow down the cause:

Step 1: Test the issue in Clean boot mode.

How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

If the issue doesn’t appear, you can determine which one can be the cause by using dichotomy in MSconfig. Checking on half of Non-Microsoft service and restart, determining which half of the services cause the issue and repeating to check half of the problematic half services.

Step 2: Disable third party browser extensions and add-ons for IE

    1.        IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> remove the checkmark in front of "Enable third party browser extensions" -> OK then restart IE.
    2.        IE -> Tools -> Manage add-ons -> Please disable non-Microsoft add-ons

If that does not help, we can re-enable third party browser extensions and add-ons.

Step 3: Scan system files and any error message, please post here.

Open CMD by running as administrator, and type following command:

    SFC /SCANNOW

If these steps don’t resolve your issue, please help to post the crash dump file here as Andre mentioned for further research.

    Keep post.

  • I asked the Adobe people about the possible solution to this cause I am not able to view videos using IE and this is the reply I got. Now I am wondering if there is an ACL for windows 8.1RTM and if Adobe Shockwave has been included?

"Re: IE 11.0.9600.16384 crush due to FlashPlayer     created by C F McBlob in Using Flash Player - View the full discussion

8.1 is still a beta till Friday, and so is IE 11. ANY and ALL problems with either should be addressed to Microsoft as it's THEIR beta software.

I know that sounds like "copping out" but I've beta tested software for about fifteen different companies since 2003 and in the early days, I got told, chastized, warned, and just plain "bawled out" for taking beta problems to the wrong places. Until 8.1 and IE11 are "ready for prime time", it's all Microsoft's baby."
