Optane and Windows Driver Model (WDM) RRS feed

  • Question

  • In its infinite wisdom Intel has provided a driver for Windows 10 for the so called Intel System Acceleration with the new Optane non-volatile memory, but "forgot" to provide it for Windows 7, despite that on my continent only 35% of Windows users run Windows10 and 49% run Windows7, thus for me Windows 7 is the MAJOR Windows operating system here. See this link.

So my question becomes:  What are the differences in Windows Driver Model that would make it impossible for Intel to provide a driver for Windows7 ...but possible for Windows10 ?
