Activate 8.1 Enterprise against existing 2008 R2 KMS host RRS feed

  • Question

  • Has anyone been able to activate 8.1 Enterprise against an existing 2008 R2 KMS host?  Is there an updated KMS host key that I need to wait for before going crazy looking for a solution?

  • Hello,

New KMS host keys will be required to activate Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2.  For downlevel KMS hosts an update will be required as well which should be available in the GA timeframe.
