Client push not working - showing errors RRS feed

  • Question

  • We recently upgraded SCCM to CB 1806, and we have just tried to do a client push for the first time.

Client installs work via TS, but Client push seems to fail when we try to push the client to a couple of servers.

We are siing the errros below in CCMSETUP.log

Client is set to use webproxy if available. ccmsetup 23/11/2018 15:02:31 4280 (0x10B8)
    ccmsetup: Host=SCCMServer.Site.local, Path=/CCM_Client, Port=80, Protocol=http, CcmTokenAuth=0, Flags=0x4101, Options=0xe0 ccmsetup 23/11/2018 15:02:31 4280 (0x10B8)
    Created connection on port 80 ccmsetup 23/11/2018 15:02:31 4280 (0x10B8)
    Trying without proxy. ccmsetup 23/11/2018 15:02:31 4280 (0x10B8)

    Failed to get directory list from 'http://SCCMServer.Site.local/CCM_Client'. Error 0x87d0027e ccmsetup 23/11/2018 15:02:31 4280 (0x10B8)

So we are unsure why client push isn;t working. Boundries are all correct.

    I would appreciate and assistance.

    Regards

  • Have you reviewed the IIS log on the DP or MP?

Is the above complete, and unedited? It doesn't look like it and posting jutst a bunch of out-of-context error messages is more or meaningless for troubleshooting. Please post the complete log file to a file sharing service and link to it here.

Do yo uhave https client communicaiton enabled in the environment?

  • It seems the authentication issue, have you have the necessary port enabled and the components in the console is healthy ?

  • Thanks for the replies

    Components in SCCM look healthy

I have had a look at the IIS logs from the DP and can not see wnay issues in the log.

Ports are not an issue - I can telnet to port 80 and 443, Both servers are on the same VLAN - no firewalls between them, so there should be no issues with connectivity between servers. CCM setup log files attached from the client client setup logs

  • You can't just scan a log like the IIS log, you need to read it. Find the corresponding traffic by client IP and timestamp and actually read it -- don't just look for errors as that's not sufficient when looking for issues.

Allen - thanks but our issue is slightly different - Our CCM client folder exists and is pointing to the right location.

  • The above only shows app catalog traffic and is not relevant to client push.

302 is an HTTP redirection though which to my knowledge is not normal. Have you configured something in IIS to do this?

  • Hi jason, thanks for having a look. I will have another look at through the IIS logs. But to answer your question,  we have not set up and HTTP redirection in IIS.

Just to add - a manual install works

    CCMSETUP.exe sitecode=p01 DNSSUFFIX=Site.local /MP:sccmserver.site.local

  • Compare the successful log to the unsuccessful and see what is different.

  • Hi,

Our site has exactly the same problem, can you expand on how you did the redirection on IIS ?

    Many Thanks

  • Hello, Dejul.

You can attach a print of how your site is set up. I have been experiencing the same issue for over 1 week.

    Thanks

  • Sorry about the delay,

The way we fixed this was by going to IIS on the site server, then go the CCM_Client site within IIS, and clicking on redriection. For some reason, a colleague setup a application catalogue, and then enabled redirection on all the sites. We had to disable the re-direction setting.

Let me know if you get stuck
