What exactly is the Queue "Work Item Group" used for? RRS feed

  • Question

  • There is an out-of-box Queue in SCSM (We're on 2012 R2) called "Work Item Group" that I can't really find any helpful documentation on.

Can someone break it down for me, preferably in noob-speak, on what this actually controls, and when it (or when it shouldn't) be used?

  • The "Work Item Group" is just an internal, out-of-the-box Queue to control access for user Roles to "All Work Items" no matter which type. The membership in the "Work Item Group" is automatically given for any Work Item.

Basically the use of the "All Work Items" Queue in SCSM is comparable to the "Domain Users" AD group.

    Hope this helps.
