Surface Frustratingly Disconnects USB Devices After Sleep RRS feed

  • Question

  • First of all, it be nice if there were a phone number somewhere to contact the Surface team. The problem I am having as a Surface developer is this: If the Surface unit sits unused long enough to enter its "sleep" cycle, when I try to resume my work, in many instances the USB peripheral devices are disconnected. No combination of re-plugging, or re-arranging the devices makes any difference; they're just dead. I have to do a hard shut down each time. Is there any straight-forward way in Windows Vista to peer into system logs? Any pearls of wisdom would be appreciated. For now I disabled "sleep" from the power management menu, but ultimately I'm not sure that this resolves the problem.
