Manually running SSA State SCANS or using SCCM to configure when scans are run RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it possible to create a bat file or scheduled task that controls when SSA scans are run and not schedule it to run via policy. The policy options are too crude.

  • Yes, you can run it a couple of different ways:

There is a file on the client machines that is called fcssasondemand.exe which will run the SSA check right away.

It is located in the %programfiles%\microsoft forefront\client security\client\ssa folder (trying to remember off the top of my head)

When I want to run the check manually I either use psexec remotely to the computer, or you could create an advertisement to run the application.

The fcssasondemand.exe runs silently already so no switches are needed.  Just make sure you do not reboot the computer after you run it.

    Other notes:

It may take up to 10 minutes for you to see the results in the reports.
