Biztalk server 2013 r2 oracle 11g integration RRS feed

  • Hi,

    what are the pre requisites for biztalk 2013 r2 and  oracle 11g integration. And how to achieve this.

    Mandar has provided valuable info around the same.

    I would like to advise you to have a look at Oracle SOA gateway and see if your integrations can be achieved using services. Oracle 11g does support SOAP webservices. Dev effort will be less as well.

    Doing it services way would be a better approach and when u upgrade to Oracle 12 or 12.2 you will also get the REST options and switching from SOAP to REST would be easy as well. 

    Aditionally you will have all the SOA benefits (Provided u implement the principles ). 

    If your integrations needs are not feasible via services then the LOB adapters are always there.

    BizTalk Adapter for Oracle Database Setup: Step, Error/Issue and Resolution.

    basically you need to do the fllowing

    1) Install the ORcale client for the 11g (both 32 and 64 bit)

    2) Install the Biztalk Adapter pack for your Biztalk Environment

    3) Register the Orcale the adpaters in the Biztalk admin Console (WCF-Custom adapter has Oracle binding in it.)

    supported versions are: 
    • Oracle database version 11.1, 
    • Oracle database version 10.2, 
    • Oracle database version 10.1, 
    • Oracle database version 9.2

    And supported client versions:

    • Oracle Data Access Components for Oracle Client 11.1.0.6 with Patch Set 11.1.0.7, 
    • Oracle Data Access Components for Oracle Client 11.1.0.7

    My client using 

    • Oracle database version 11.1, 

    Can i use the client version(Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Client (11.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)  )   as u specified in the link above

    Any Suggestions/Help.

    My server : windows server 2012 standard   64bit,

    Biztalk: 2013 r2,

    Sql :sqlserver2012 with sp2

    client oracle db version : Oracle 11.1

    What version of oracle client i need to Use.

  • Which version of the ODAC client are you installing? Refer the supported versions above.

    I am trying to to install client as mandar shared in the link and getting the above error.

    Am i need to install  Oracle client and Odp.net separately.

    i have downloaded the Following from Mandar Link.

    ODTwithODAC1120320_32bit

    win32_11gR2_client

    ODAC1120320Xcopy_x64

    win64_11gR2_client

    Previously i got error while installing client as :

    To solve this change the compatibility mode before running the setup for both 32 and 64 bit as:

    ThanQ.
