Clipboard redirection Windows7 Ultimate retail Remote desktop connection RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, i have noticed an odd problem with windows7 remote desktop host.
    Redirected clipboard only works once.
    To replicate problem
Enable Accept remote desktop connection on windows7 and connect to it from another machine (from a Vista sp2 machine in my case) while Clipboard redirection set.
Copy something from client and paste it on windows 7 (works fine)
Now copy something else from your client machine and try to paste it to remote clipboard doesn;t get carried/copied.

    Can anyone reproduce this?

  • No. I just performed the steps you mentioned above, it worked well. I can copy and paste files either from the client or the host. Regarding your issue, may I ask some questions:

    1. Do you receive any error message? What is it?
    2. Have you tried to copy other types of files? Make sure that you have enough permissions to copy the file.

BTW, I would like to suggest you checking if you enable the smart card redirection.

    For references:

Why has my clipboard stopped working?

  • No there is no error message.
I've tried with many files or just text. Still the same

smart card redirection disabled. in fact only clipboard redirection is active

I have tried with 2 different computers so far and all acts same. Something definitely happening on the host (win7 ultimate)

  • Pay attention to enable the smart card redirection other than disable it. Meanwhile, are these computers joined to a domain? Is there any Group Policy enabled on your computer?

    Best Regards
