Cluster Group is returning Event Id 9017 DNS Bad Key RRS feed

  • Question

  • One of the Cluster group is returning a DNS bad key. It only happens when it is failing over to the primary node. There's no entry in the DNS for the Cluster group name. Have deleted the DNS entry and computer object for the cluster group and have done repairs but the error still exists. What could be the problem with the DNS?

Did you configure multiple IP address for the cluster resource?

What's the current status of this cluster resource? Online or offline?

Please try to run the following command to register Network Name resources.

     get-clusterresource -name "cluster name" | update-clusternetworknameresource

If it still doesn't work, Please manually create the record in DNS to do a test. Make sure select the box says “Allow any authenticated user to update DNS record with the same owner name".
