  • Question

  • Hi. Can anyone point me to some documentation that explains when I need a separate WIM install images?

    I believe I need a new one for any of the following combinations:
    (32-bit vs 64-bit)
    x (Client vs Core vs Server)
    x (Intel CPU vs AMD)

    Thanks.

  • Hello,

    I don’t think there are the existing documentations regarding your concerns. According to my experience, you might customize your own wim file via the Windows Setup disk to meet your needs. For Vista OS, you only need two installation disks (32bit and 64bit) and you could capture the image for each edition. Thanks for your time and understanding!

    Good Luck!

  • Sounds like a formula A x E, where:
    A = Architecture type (32-bit vs 64-bit)
    E = Edition (Server Enterprise, Server Standard, Server Datacenter, Core Enterprise, Core Standard, etc)

    Thanks!
