MS Anti-Virus for Vista? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I'm running Vista 32bit SP2. Defender has latest updates.

But, it seems there's no anti-virus protection in Defender on Vista.

    Correct?

Can anti-virus be added to Defender on Vista?

If not, will Security Essentials provide anti-virus protection on Vista?

If so, is this the correct download page?

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14210/security-essentials-download

If not, is there ANY Microsoft anti-virus product available for Vista?

    thx

  • Hi johny w,

Windows Vista has come to end of support. So, we cannot expect anti-virus from Microsoft.

If you want to continue using Vista, please purchase/install 3rd party's antivirus.

  • Yes, I'm aware Vista support has run out.

    That doesn't answer the question.

  • Your answer is no, because it's not supported, correct?

  • Hi johny,

I have no idea about your question, because I have been using 3rd party antivirus instead of MS solution.

  • I have no idea about your question,

    Ashidacchi

If you have no idea, then why are you wasting my time, just to tell me that you don't know?

    Plz stop wasting my time.

    Because you ask questions.
I'm afraid wasting time is mutual both you and me.
But, sorry, I will not post when I have no answer.

  • There are no current anti-virus software solutions available for the unsupported Windows Vista operating system. Time to move up to Windows 10!
