  • Hi,

I'd like to confirm the meaning of your issue.
Your computer has one CD-ROM drive and one DVD/CD-ROM drive (i.e. two optical drives). And only DVD/CD-ROM drive can work, i.e. CD-ROM drive does not work.

If this is correct, please check whether both optical drives can be seen in Device Manager.
If the two can be seen in Device Manager as working normally, explain how CD-ROM drive is not available (Power lamp does not light, a CD-ROM media does not rotate, etc.)

  • Hi ylma87,

I hope you will provide clear information: what do you want to do, and what happens.

Do you want to boot from CD or DVD ROM?
If so, change boot sequence or press [Del] just after power-on your PC and select a boot media.

  • You have CSM enabled for ODD and HDD on a UEFI system.

So when you use the boot menu, it will show you (legacy) boot options for ODD and HDD, and UEFI boot options for ODD and HDD separately.

  • Hi ylma87,

If you can see the unknown device in Device Manager, please try this:
    1) Right-Click on it, and select [Uninstall device]
    2) Reboot your computer
(device driver will be installed automatically)

If the above does not work, repair system files:
Refer to this article How to Repair Corrupted Windows System Files with the SFC and DISM Commands
