Uninstall deployment conflict RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

    (Current setup MEM 2002)

Recently we discovered that the uninstall deployment for some of our applications wouldn't run, and looking in Deployment Status for the Uninstall Deployment, we see this

And no the device isn't a member of both the install and uninstall collection.

If we then change something in the properties of the application. Eg. like adding a text to the Administrators Comments field. The Uninstall will kick off shortly after that change for all the devices already reporting the rules is in conflicting with other rules for that specific application.

Devices added to the uninstall collection after the change in the application properties will get stucked with the same error  and an additional modification must be made in the application properties to make them uninstall.

The experience is similiar to this thread:

    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/723bd3e5-ba6f-46a4-84c6-0041f76bae7a/uninstall-conflict-troubleshooting?forum=ConfigMgrAppManagement

So it seems like changing a property value for the application, kind of "forces" MEM to reevaluate/update a thing or two. Anybody got a hint of how to do  further debugging/troubleshooting  in this scenario, apart from opening up a Microsoft support case.

    Kind Regards,

    Jakob
