  • The new ADMX are automaticlly installed when you install IE9 on the computer that has GPMC installed. I have written a blog post Internet Explorer 9 Group Policy Settingsthat lists all the new Administrative templates settings. The Internet Explorer Maintainence section will also be update with new options if you have IE9 installed.

    Hope this helps

  • Hello,

on each computer where IE9 is installed the inetres.admx is updated to the new version. You find it in C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions and don't forget the inetres.adml file from your lanuage folder under C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions

  • Do you know whether any of these settings have disappeared from current versions of inetres.admx?

I have a Windows 7 64-bit computer with an .admx file that is missing at least the setting named, "Turn off Managing SmartScreen Filter for Internet Explorer 9". This inetres.admx file's MD5 hash is 10DBA822570A8B53AF2669392FE894F6.

I also have an inetres.admx from a Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 computer. The setting in question is missing from these too. I might think that this is because IE9 doesn't exist on these operating systems, except that the corresponding setting for IE8 is present.
