Migrating DL's to Exchange 2010

Hello
We are in the process of migrating from Exchange 2007 SP3 > Exchange 2010 SP1. Some mailboxes have already been migrated to 2010 and they seem fine.
But what about DL's? I know there are features in 2010 like Moderation for DL's which I'd like to take advantage of, but how do you 'migrate' a DL to 2010, since theortically it's just a group, it doesn't actually live on a mailbox server?
AD level is 2003.01/رمضان/1432 08:15 م

That should update the version of the object and add thenecessary properties to the group.---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP

For upgrading the Distribution groups to the new version run the below command in Exchange 2010 EMS.
Get-DistributionGroup –ResultSize Unlimited | Set-DistributionGroup –ForceUpgrade
This will upgrade all the distribution Groups within an Organization to the Exchange 2010 version.
You can also upgrade the DL's manually , however it will be very tedious as you need to edit each DL manually change some property and save it. This will give a prompt to upgrade the DL to the new version. On clicking yes the DL will be upgarded.
Once all the DL's are upgarded you will be able to use the feature provided in Exchange 2010.

Thanks, do you know how we'd upgrade the DL manually via the EMC?05/رمضان/1432 11:26 م

To upgrade a DL manually via EMC you need to edit the DL change some property (E.g. Delete some text in the NAme and re enter again) and save it. This will give a prompt to upgrade the DL to the new version. On clicking yes the DL will be upgarded.
