Installation for Management Studio for SQL server 2012 RC0: RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I wanted to know is there any installable only for Management Studio for SQL server 2012 RC0? I've installed SQL server 2012 RC0 in server machine and want to connect from other machine by installing only Management Studio.

  • Hi Santosh,

    Can you not just install the client tools from the same installation file as you installed on the server, as you would with earlier versions of SQL?

    You shoud be able to just select the management tools from the installation options tree.

  • Hi Santosh, as Richard mentioned, you can install the client tools, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), on a machine and use that machine to connect to your remote instances.  During the feature selection dialog, select "Management Tools - Basic" or "Management Tools - Complete" based on your need.
