SCOM 2012 - Management Packs - SCOM agent grayed out and SCOM agent status Not Monitoring, Critical, Warning RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Team,

We have three SCOM servers, Westus2,Southcentral,Onprem. Southcentrla server is primary server.

We are using SCOM 2012 version.

We could see that Windows Servers SCOM agents status as grayed out,  not monitoring, critical, warning.

Around 100 agents will be there and it's increasing day by day.

Even uninstalling SCOM agent and re-installing agents not but still same SCOM Agent status.

We have Windows server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, Windows 10S VMs in our environment.

Previously my it was working fine, now it's not working fine.

Could you please let me know which version of management packs I need to install and can I have steps how to download and install management packs which ever required?

HOW CAN WE KNOW WHICH MANAGEMENT PACKS NEEDS TO BE DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL IN OUR SCOM 2012 ENVIRONMENT?

Thanks & Regards, Balaji G (from microsoft alert forum)

  • If they used to work fine, it's probably not related to management packs. So same answer as in your other thread : check logs and let us know.

  • Hi CyrAz,

    1.

Which logs I need to check and where to check.

Can you please share me reference/resource URL to check it?

    2. Event I newly added VMs status also not monitoring in SCOM console for few servers.

  • "Operations Manager" event log in event viewer. Anything that look unusual/suspicious/interesting.
