KMS server log file how to record the client's ip address? RRS feed

  • Question

  • The log file on the kms server records the client's FQDN/NETBIOS host name. Can I change the IP address of the client? How to set it?

  • You need to do it from your domain controller side or that PC side.

After you change IP from client, it will be update in AD.

Then it will be picked up by KMS

  • Our kms is not in AD environment. I just want to not show the NETBIOS name for kms client in the kms server log. Can kms client use ip address display instead?

  • Hi center13,

According to my research, there is no such operation.

  • Hello,

Sylvia is correct, there is no option to display the IP address rather than the Netbios name in the KMS log.  What is the concern with showing the Netbios name?
