runbook execution RRS feed

  • Question

  • If we have a monitor activity and then check schedule.

I need to run  a couple of activities after check schedule.

But I may want them to run in parallel.

So I add two links start from check schedule, one is link to invoker unbook1 , the other is link to invoke runbook2.

My question is if the  invoke runbook1 failed, will it stops the  master runbook reporting failure, while runbook2 still  is running?

    Thanks

  • No.

Master RB contains only the Invoke Activities.

If RB2 fails it reports back to the Master RB it is completed but not the status details (it doesn't matter if success or error).

So RB1 invoked by Master RB will still continue and running.

Master RB will still finish sucessful if an invoked RB fails.

  • Thanks, are your answers the same if I use the link this way:

initial data ----> invoke book2-----> invoke book 1

if runbook2 failed, will the master runbook report failure?

in both cases, do you check the tab wait for completion for the child runbook. or does not matter regarding my question.

I see you make example often starts with initialize data, can it could be no entries in detail tab in order to use it?

    thanks!
