Does any version of BizTalk support Oracle 12.2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I've been hunting online but can't find this answer anywhere so hoping someone here might be able to help!

    is there any current version of BizTalk that supports Oracle 12c Release 2 (12.2) via the Oracle Database Adapter? Or will this be a BizTalk Server 2020 thing?

    Thanks in advance

Answers

  • I raised a ticket with Microsoft, the product team confirmed that BizTalk 2020 will support Oracle 12c Release 2 (12.2)

    Maybe this helps someone else :)

  • Hmm, the just released list of BizTalk 2020 supported LOB systems does not include 12.2.

    • Oracle database 19c (19.3)

  • P.S. I have posted a consolidated summary of supported versions for 2010, 2013R2, 2016 and 2020 on another thread.

  • Thanks for the reply Simon.

    The Oracle product names are a bit confusing as these are all considered to be "12.2" releases. 19C is the terminal release of 12.2, which means it has the longest support lifespan - March 2026.

    12C R2 = 12.2.0.1

    18C = 12.2.0.2

    19C = 12.2.0.3

  • Many thanks, Phil. That makes a lot more sense now! The only outstanding question I have is does BizTalk 2020 support 12.2.0.1 (12C R2 from your list)?

  • Yeah it does, however Oracle extended support for 12.2.0.1 ends in Nov 2020 so you'd be better going to 12.2.0.3 anyway
