    Each time I tried to open a VM's console, I keep getting the error message "Virtual Machine Manager failed to connect to the virtual machine because the host name (host name) could not be resolved by the Domain Name System."

    What port am I suppose to open on the firewall and to what machine am I suppose to open the port for in order to achieve this? 

    I am trying to access the VMs from offsite.  Onsite works fine because it's able to find the DNS for the server.

    I think the port is 2179 (VMconnect) but AppController is trying to resolve the host's internal name so you need to mirror your internal and external DNS and open public ports on each host ...

    Personally i would recommend using remote desktop or remote-app, to run it from anywhere "Onsite". Also i completely dropped AppController and replaced it with RemoteApp'd SCVMM console and self service accounts.

    Hi Arthur,

    Can you help me with remote app since we have not added the vms to any domain. When we try to connect to vm console via browser every time it asks for password and sometimes it fails to connect to VM
