Windows Server 2008 Small Bussines Premium RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good Day,

    I have a Win Small Bussines Server Premium 2008 licence (1-4cpu 5-CAL)

On the certificate of authenticity it shows me 2 product keys? (PKey Svr1 and PKey Svr2)

Does this mean I can Install this on two seperate machines or is the one key intended for a Virtual Server?

  • The Premium license comes with 2 SBS keys and 2 Windows 2008 Standard Server keys. One each of the keys are listed as physical keys, and the other set is listed as virtual keys. Use the physical keys if you install the software on 2 separate physical servers. If you use a single server, you would use the virtual Server 2008 Standard key on the physical server, install the HyperV role, and install the 2 virtual machines - SBS 2008 and Server 2008 using the virtual keys.

  • I believe the second product key should be for the standard server that get along with the premium add on.

  • Thanx Guys!

I don't understand? What did you thank these guys for?

I have the same question, but I think the question remains unanswered.

Like you I have a COA sticker with 2 keys.

They are designated with Pkey Svr1 and Pkey Svr2.

    To rephrase the question:

    What is Pkey Svr1 for?

    What is Pkey Svr2 for?

If anyone can clarify without raising further questions please do.
